SCHOOL PROGRAMS FOR STUDENTS AND STAFF
As part of our Health Promotion in Schools Program, we offer classroom education sessions " Let's Talk About Real Food" for Pre School and primary age children. These are designed to create awareness in children of the importance of eating well. They are fun and interactive.
For Year 7 through 12, we offer "Optimize Your Brain Power For Study". This interactive session looks at the realities of caffeine and alcohol intake, the problems with huge sugar consumption, and why eating refined foods can affect one's ability to concentrate.
We also offer Teacher Education Forums to help teachers become aware personally and professionally how simple it is to put into practice healthy eating strategies. As teachers already know, they need to be constantly aware of their ability to role model behaviour, appropriate or inappropriate, and its enormous capacity for learning in their students
Natural Kitchen Strategies works on a consultancy basis with schools to implement the Natural Kitchen Strategies principles into their canteens. Jacqi meets with Principals, School Council representatives, parent associations and canteen managers to give invaluable advice on all aspects of developing healthy school canteen menus.
Jacqi Deighan initiated and was heavily involved in the pilot program in a Victorian State School Canteen.
